Priors – What You Need (Le Crayon Remix)

For those of you who don’t know Le Crayon, Le Crayon is… a man or woman who lives in Paris, France and goes by the name of Lauren Jackerson. Although I’ve followed Le Crayon on soundcloud for months now, I still have no clue who he or she is. All I know is that this person has a knack for delivering stellar House remixes that can put some well-known producers to shame. In his/her latest edit, Le Crayon has decided to take on the difficult task of remixing Priors’ 2010 hit What You Need. Almost equivalent to Adele’s Rolling In The Deep, everyone and their mom has made an edit to this song. Remixed by the likes of Grum, Hey Champ, Allen Walker, and DCUP, you can only imagine how hard it must have been for Le Crayon to compose an edit that would not only be original but good enough to stand-out among the other big names. After listening to it, I would have to say Le Crayon accomplished his/her task. Synthy, upbeat, and featuring some of the best loops I’ve ever heard, Le Crayon proves that one doesn’t need a huge persona to make great music; let the music speak for itself.
