Is it just me, or haven’t you noticed that electronic music within the UK is leaps and bounds ahead of any other music scene on earth right now. Seriously, every fresh, new artist that I manage to come across these days seems to be from the place. Whether it’s garage, chillwave, dubstep, post-dubstep, or simply “electronic,” you can be sure that there is a British artist taking the lead within that genre. When I think of some of my favorite artists in the past year, I tend to think of big names like Gold Panda, SBTRKT, James Blake, and Star Slinger; but promising young guns such as Disclosure, Chad Valley, T.E.E.D, and Mount Kimbie also come to mind. Like a steady stream, there seems to be a constant flow of up and coming British artists whose talents go unmatched anywhere else.
For today’s post, I’ll like to add a few more drops to that stream by introducing Great Skies, a 20-year-old producer from London. Having just come out with his latest EP Summer Moments, Great Skies seems to have the potential of being the next name placed on the UK’s long list of talented young artists. Putting together chilled, garage beats with cut-up vocals and deeply, laidback percussion, Great Skies delivers an EP that will leave you relaxed while you reminisce on your past summer experiences. The perfect soundtrack to listen to as summer begins to come to an end.
