If I had to say, one of my favorite producers at the moment has to be Joe Goddard. Commonly known as the vocalist, percussionist and synth-wizard of Hot Chip, Goddard is also a member of the furry electronic duo The 2 Bears. Recently, the man from London has decided to hook-up with fellow English producer T.E.E.D, putting together an edit for his breathlessly sensual track Garden. To be honest, I was a little hesitant to give this song a listen at first. The original was so good that I felt any remix would simply ruin it. Well, to my surprise, Goddard has managed to cook up an edit that compliments the original quite nicely. Deciding to chop and distort the vocals a little bit, Goddard takes Garden to whole other level by implementing liberal doses of majestic synth and heart-pounding bass. Although T.E.E.D’s version will always hold a special place in my heart, this remix is well on it’s way into becoming one of my favorites of 2011.
