Flume

A lot seems to have happened to Flume since we last posted his track “Sleepless.” Not only has the young producer experienced a significant jump in popularity in the passing weeks, but it appears that this 19 year-old has become the latest member of one of the best record labels around, future classic. The perfect fit for one of Sydney’s most promising talents, Flume has chosen to kick-off his career with the label by remixing New Navy, a band also signed to future classic.

New Navy – Zimbabwe (Flume Remix)

Probably one of my favorite indie-pop songs of the entire year, Flume takes the work of James, Ben, Jamie, and Matt, and transforms it into something that’s noticeably more chilled and downtempo. Now, the guitar riffs seem airier, the vocals breathier, and the percussion heavier. Accompanied by several other alterations Flume makes to the track’s melody and rhythm, this edit seems to be a precursor to the great music we can expect from Flume in the near future and beyond. Bravo, Flume! Bravo!

Enjoy,

- Yaz
