You know that sensation when you hear something that makes you feel something you can actually envision and describe? Well, this track does just that for me. Somehow, it matches my negative feelings about the fact that the week is only half over, but at the same time provides me with the optimistic vibe I need to get through the rest.
My favorite Russian of 2011, Cosmonaut Grechko, is back at it again with a new release that is as much about the despair of hopeless romantics at not seeing their love realized as it is about the looking-on-the-bright-side feel of friendship. I had to replay it at least 12 times before I could begin writing about it. I don’t think I’ve ever heard something that encapsulates the feel of a Wednesday afternoon better than this. Grechko’s style of LoFi is one of the most appealing and easy to listen to out there, so keep an eye on his soundcloud and his personal website for more in future. For now, I say we give him a big round of applause and: Spasibo Comrade!
