Professor Kliq is an electronic producer from Chicago, Illinois and yesterday he decided to release a brand-new remix for the Gorillaz’ track “Feel Good Inc.” Although I’m not too familiar with his sound, Professor Kliq had me from the beginning when he wrote in the track’s description that he’s not trying to “compete with the direction that a lot of dance and electronic music is going. Thusly, this [remix] is a lot more disco, a lot more cinematic.”

Always a fan when artists choose to revamp classic songs with a little funk, Professor Kliq manages to transform the original from the Gorillaz and turn it into an unadulterated nu-disco banger. Featuring fast-moving basslines and guitar riffs that are filled to the brim with dance-floor energy, Professor Kliq is able to breathe fresh air into a track we’ve already seen remixed a billion times. And for that, Upside Sounds salutes thee!
